Bringing Your Puppy Home- Made Simple
Clear Guidance, Thoughtful Preparation, and Support for Families Near and Far
How Our Placement Process Works
We believe a smooth transition begins long before pickup day. Our placement process is designed to be clear, supportive, and confidence-building for families — whether this is your first puppy or your fifth.

Our Placement Steps:
-
Application: Families begin by completing our online application or reaching out via email. Email is the fastest way to communicate with us and is required to join our reservation list.

-
Matching: Using your application details alongside daily, hands-on observation of the puppies raised in our home, we provide thoughtful match recommendations based on lifestyle, experience, and goals.

-
Puppy Match Day: In the first Getting Ready for Puppy email, families receive important dates — including Puppy Match Day. Appointments may be attended in person or via video call. During this session, we introduce all suitable puppies and guide families through the selection process.
To ensure families feel prepared and confident, selection includes a short, friendly readiness check based on our preparation emails.
Preparation: Our Getting Ready for Puppy email series guides families step-by-step through home setup, routines, training foundations, and expectations — helping eliminate last-minute stress and uncertainty.

-
Pickup: Pickup dates are announced early so families can plan with ease. With advance notice and an additional fee, we are often able to accommodate extended stays. Puppies may be picked up at our home or travel arrangements can be coordinated through our puppy nanny service.

-
Follow-Up & Lifelong Support: We follow up with families after puppies go home and regularly check in through health and development surveys. Families continue to reach out — even years later — and receive the same care and responsiveness they experienced before pickup.

In-Person Pickup Experience
Families who pick up in person are welcomed into a calm, prepared environment designed to support a smooth transition.

Each puppy goes home with a thoughtfully prepared Elite Blend Puppy Kit, which includes:
-
Health records, vaccination history, and vet report
-
A comfort toy with the scent of the litter
-
Custom Elite Blend collar
-
Transition food if needed
-
Grooming information
-
Complimentary 30-day Trupanion insurance coverage
-
Two-year health guarantee
-
AKC Reunite microchip with lifetime registration already completed and paid for
We are available for questions, but by pickup day families are typically well prepared thanks to our advance education — something consistently reflected in our reviews.
Out-of-Area Families & Travel Options
We work with families across the West Coast and beyond and make travel logistics simple and transparent.

Flying In: We are located approximately 20 minutes from Sacramento International Airport.
Driving In: Convenient access just off Interstate 80.
Scheduling & Coordination: Pickup dates are shared early in our Birth Announcement email. Pickups typically occur in the morning (9 a.m. – noon) to give puppies time to settle into their new home before bedtime. Families select preferred pickup times closer to the date.
Timing Flexibility: Puppies cannot leave before 8 weeks of age, but with advance notice we can often accommodate additional days with a daily holdover rate.
Puppy Nanny Service: For families unable to travel, we offer a trusted puppy nanny service. Puppies fly in-cabin with an experienced handler. Pricing varies by destination — please contact us for details.
We do not ship puppies. Transparency, safety, and ethical placement always come first.
Travel Preparation Support
Distance should never mean uncertainty. Our Getting Ready for Puppy email series provides detailed, practical guidance covering:

-
A complete packing and supply list
-
Feeding schedules and nutrition transitions
-
Our proven crate training system
-
Nighttime routines and first-night guidance
-
Recommended supplies and tools
Many families share that this preparation — especially our crate training approach — helped them succeed where past attempts had failed. The result is a calmer transition for both puppy and family.

Training & Transition Options
We offer several optional training pathways to support families with different needs.

Started Puppies: Occasionally available, Started Puppies vary in age and skill level. Pricing reflects training and development.
Board & Train Program: One of our most popular offerings. Puppies stay for an additional three weeks with capped class sizes to ensure individualized attention. Training focuses on socialization, crate foundations, and obedience basics. Families receive a personalized orientation at pickup.
Crate Training Foundation: Our puppies are introduced to the crate before going home. Families receive clear schedules and reinforcement guidance.
